Yesterday I found out officially that I will be in Madrid this summer and now I'm just waiting to hear officially from Prague. Today I went to an informational session that talked about all the programs and gave some more details then are available from the website.
What I learned:
1. Madrid is considered one of the fashion centers of Europe. DREAM COME TRUE!!!!!!
2. I will get a couple of long weekends while in Madrid to travel wherever we want, and basically everything I could want (Rome, Paris, Barcelona, Morocco, Sevilla, etc.) is within do-able distance of Madrid!
3. Madrid is famous for its nightlife. DOUBLE DREAM COME TRUE!!!!!
4. I have to find my own accommodations for both Prague and Madrid, but that should be a fun adventure.
5. Academically, in Madrid I'll be studying European and international law.
6. The Prague trip will be spilt to two weeks in Prague and two weeks in VIENNA!
7. We are taking a weekend trip to Brno, the second largest city in the Czech Republic.
8. Basically, this summer will be a whirlwind of AWESOMENESS.
I was going to do a post on all the stuff I have to figure out still, but I think I'll leave that for another time. I'd rather spend my time researching NYFW and compiling a mind-blowing post about that.
So excited for Summer 2011!

Marc Jacobs NYFW 2011
When I posted my Valentine's Day list of my ideal bfs, I didn't realize the karmic beauty of putting Marc Jacobs on my list. He put on his highly anticipated show at New York Fashion Week yesterday. Here are some of my faves:
Hehe, I couldn't help myself on the last pic of the genius himself. What a hottie!

If I could choose a Valentine...
Seriously, why do we still celebrate this holiday? Single and coupled people alike tend to hate this holiday so as far as I can tell only Hallmark looks forward to this. Well since this nonsensical tradition carries on, I've decided to handpick my valentines this year. Now I just need a little help from Cupid to get his arrows aiming the right direction.
1. Ryan Reynolds
1. Ryan Reynolds
I'm not even sure I need to qualify him with an explanation. Nope. Picture says it all.
2. Cory Monteith
Approximately six and a half days a week, I pace and impatiently wait for that one hour Cory and I get to spend together on Tuesday nights. I love his attitude on and off screen and who doesn't want a singer/dancer/star quarterback combo? Major bonus...he plays the drums.
3. Marc Jacobs
I love this man. And while yes I know he is not romantically interested in myself being a woman, I still image we could have a wild love affair of the friendship kind. Friends are better then boyfriends anyways, they last longer. He's just so darn adorable. And if he wanted to gift me some of his incredible designs as part of this friendship I wouldn't complain.
4. Brian Atwood
I fully admit I don't know Brian Atwood's sexual orientation and I don't care. The GORGEOUS heels he creates are all I've ever needed to know about him to know I'm in L-O-V-E. Although, I'm not sure if creating sky high stilettos means you understand women, per se, but it at least means you appreciate what they do for our legs. Closer then most men I suppose.
5. Weinstein
Look at those big brown eyes. There's no one I count on more than my puppy, Weinstein, to send me love. I miss my cuddle-bug! Side note: the teddy bear he's chomping on was one I bought at Kim Zolciack's garage sale.

FASHION WEEK
Hey Friends! I know I've been MIA but between snowstorm that has overtaken Chicago and the flu bug that overtook my body, I have been out of commission life wise. Now that the streets/my room/to do list are a mess, add one more thing to the excitement..... NEW YORK FASHION WEEK. Yes my well-clothed friends, it is that time of year again. Luckily with the technology these days we can pretend like we have a front row seat. So you can figure out which labels you will be stalking when..... click here for a full schedule!

No Shop February
As of Feb 1, I am not shopping for the entire month. Not once. Yikes. And by this I mean I'm trying to cut out (almost) all unnecessary spending thats racked my wallet lately, like manicures and hair accessories. At first I just wanted to save as much money as possible this month because next month is going to be a doozie on the bank account since I have D.C. and Vegas, but now I'm thinking this will be a great chance to rediscover and rework the stuff in my closet (read: trying to take the optimistic view). Step one, time to clean out the closet. I'll let you know how that goes.

BLIZZARD
Timeline of Snowpocalypse:
8:30 a.m. Started this morning off optimistic despite the impending doom of a blizzard heading to Chicago. Went to class wearing my new Steve Madden rainboots, leggings, a t-shirt, and blazer.
9:00 a.m. The weather forecast is calling for crazy windchill, so on go the gloves and up goes the hood.
9:35 a.m. Finally at school but the cute little braid I put in my hair has been mangled by having to use the hood. Quick fix-up in the bathroom before class.
11:15 a.m. Campus is closing and now waiting desperately until 11:40 for class to finish.
11:16 a.m. Attention span is done-zo. Checking fashion blogs.
11:18 a.m. Internet quit. Damn you DePaul wireless.
11:20 a.m. Clicking re-connect on gchat like a madwoman. Whispering around the room indicates everyone is now aware of the snow day.
11:40 a.m. Going out in this cold can wait, lunch is calling my name. Mmmm peanut butter and nutella.
12:15 p.m. Time to brave the cold. Hood goes back up. Gloves go back on.
1:00 p.m. Wind keeps knocking my hood down walking from the train to the apt. Cold ears.
1:15 p.m. Now wearing Purdue sweats with the elastic ankle, wool socks, and softball hoodie from when I was a junior in high school.
1:16 p.m. Snowpocalypse: 1. Me: 0.
